11.00am Family Mass – Children lead in Our Father.

Dear Naz, Many thanks for yesterday’s most joyful and uplifting celebration at St Joseph’s of your 150th Anniversary. Thank you for the beautiful Mass – please pass on my thanks to all your fine altar-servers with Edd, to your musicians and for the prayerful liturgy, to the children from St. Joseph’s School and to Mrs Tippen and all the staff and to all those who provided the splendid parish lunch afterwards. Thank you for the most generous honorarium. I shall keep you all in my prayers. With my Kindest wishes. Yours devotedly in Christ, Bernard.

  • Land Donation: As prominent local Catholic landowners based at nearby Blackmore Park in Hanley Castle, the Hornyold family donated the plot of land on Newtown Road for the construction of the church in the mid-1870s.

  • Church Opening (1876): Designed by architect T.R. Donnelly, St Joseph's opened in 1876 to serve the growing local Catholic population in Malvern.

  • Patronage of Catholicism: The Hornyolds were staunch Recusant Catholics who historically supported the local Catholic faith during times when Catholic worship was restricted, frequently funding and supporting local chapels, mission churches, and schools across Worcestershire.

A time to pray and give thanks for all those who have been such an important part of our life but are sadly no longer with us. Envelopes containing a sheet of paper in them are available in the narthex for anyone wishing to submit names of their loved ones for prayers during the month of November. Please take these envelope home and return them in the November Dead Box. If you wish to enclose a donation, the offering you give will generate Masses for Holy souls which will be spread out through the coming year.

During the month of November, a tree will be situated in the Narthex displaying the photos of people’s loved ones who have died. If you would like to submit someone to be displayed on the tree, please email a photo of them alongside their name, year of birth and year of death to alicekerby@outlook.com These will then be printed, laminated and hung on the tree throughout November.

will be celebrated at 7.00pm Mass on the 26th November. A candle will be prepared for each of the deceased and if you wish you can donate £1 for the candle.
