BERNARD LONGLEY – ARCHBISHOP OF BIRMINGHAM
This weekend we celebrate Good Shepherd Sunday, when the Church prays especially for vocations to the priesthood. I want to ask you to join me in praying today that all those whom Our Lord is calling will respond with courage and generosity to his invitation to serve their brothers and sisters as priests in our Archdiocese. If you feel that the Good Shepherd might indeed be calling you - and if you are 18 or over - I would ask you to write to me directly at archbishop@rcaob.org.uk I shall be happy to meet you, with our Vocations Director, Fr Craig Szmidt, and to hear your story as you try to discern what the Lord is asking of you today and in the years ahead. Please pray for me and for all our priests. With my prayers and kindest wishes. Bernard Longley Archbishop of Birmingham.
CELEBRATE OUR WONDERFUL DIVERSITY!
Everyone is invited to an intercultural gathering on Sunday 31 May. Our Parish is blessed to have people from so many different backgrounds: Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas. Please join us at the 11.00am Mass and afterwards enjoy the food and culture that characterises our diverse Parish community. You are invited to contribute a dish to our shared meal. You may also wish to participate with a song, dance or a story which is unique to your cultural background.
Please look out for the sign-up sheet for the event in the Narthex of St Joseph's Church.

CHRISTIAN AID WEEK 10TH – 16TH MAY
Calling all Christian Aid Envelope Deliverers. I know for some of you it feels a bit pointless if you do not get any returns but last year, we raised £565 with this envelope collection. That can make a lot of difference. Once again, we are having a DELIVERY ONLY COLLECTION. The envelopes will have your address on, so people can either donate online or return it to you. All you have to do is post them through your neighbour’s doors at the beginning of the week, then bring any returns to the church and return to me or the office. Please sign the sheet on the table if you can help this year. Thank you, Win Crawford.

PARISH FACEBOOK
Carol Ann Harnett and Helen Louise started our Parish Facebook page during the Covid lockdown in 2020. Our very first post was on 23rd May! We now have 286 followers, which is not bad for a small parish. A few insights into our page:
In the past month alone, our posts received over 5,700 views.
Since January this year there have been over 15,500 views
Approximately 40% of our posts are also seen by non-followers.
So, the page is reaching a lot of people and helping to raise visibility of our parish. A huge thank you to Carol Ann, Helen, Sundrella and especially Tina who helped so much with posting regularly over the past few years. Thank you also to Tanja for her invaluable help with photos over the past couple of years. We are now looking for a volunteer to join St Joseph’s Facebook team and help with regular posting. Carol Ann and Helen will also continue to support with posting occasionally. If you are interested, please contact Helen: louise_helen@hotmail.com
A DATE FOR YOUR DIARIES!

DIOCESAN PRAYER FOR VOCATION
Heavenly Father, we ask you to send labourers into your harvest. Inspire, in the hearts of your people, vocations to the priesthood, diaconate and religious life. Bless our families with a spirit of generosity, so that those whom you call have the courage to give themselves to your Church faith. Through Christ our Lord. Amen
