  • That everyone might have food. Let us pray that everyone, from large producers to small consumers, be committed to avoid wasting food, and to ensure that everyone has access to quality food.

Please Pray

  • For the Sick and Housebound of St Joseph’s Parish: Clare Gray, Anne Wiseman, Anne-Marie Elder, Roslyn La Ferla and John Eckersley. We include all those in hospitals, nursing homes & their own homes. Our Lady, health of the sick, pray for them. Amen.

AN EVENING OF PRAYER AND REFLECTION FOR PENTECOST

19TH May 7pm Christian Dowel will be holding a Pentecost Prayer Evening of the Coming of the Holy spirit. You are all welcome to this evening. There will be a shared meal at 6.30pm in the McEnnis Room and the reflection will start at 7.15pm until 8.15pm.

CELEBRATE OUR WONDERFUL DIVERSITY!

Everyone is invited to an intercultural gathering on Sunday 31 May. Our Parish is blessed to have people from so many different backgrounds: Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas. Please join us at the 11.00am Mass and afterwards enjoy the food and culture that characterises our diverse Parish community. You are invited to contribute a dish to our shared meal. You may also wish to participate with a song, dance or a story which is unique to your cultural background.

RAISING FUNDS FOR THE YOUTH GROUP

Saturday 27th June It's a knockout £20 includes bbq. At Alton. Lots of fun activities and games finishes with bbq and Mass. Open to school years 5 to 12.

ANNUAL PARISH MEETING 2026

Takes place at 4pm, Sunday 14th June. All parishioners are invited to come and listen to the annual review of our parish with contributions from Fr Naz, the Finance Committee, and the PAC.

It is an opportunity to scrutinise the accounts and work of the PAC and ask questions. The agenda and supporting documents will be shared on the parish website. A small number of printed copies will be available at the APM.

BISHOP TIMOTHY MENESES IS COMING TO THE MALVERNS ON SATURDAY 20TH JUNE

He is walking the 10 km ridge walk of the Malvern Hills raising money for the Andrew Robinson Young Peoples Trust and celebrating Mass there. Andrew Robinson was a fourth year Seminarian at Oscott College, he is the author of 'Tears at Night, Joy at Dawn'. He developed terminal bowel cancer and sadly passed away in 2001. His family setup a trust in his name working with disadvantage children. His sister Maria Bracken will be speaking at the Sunday parish Mass on May 24th to tell you more about the opportunity to join Mass on the Malvern’s.

NEW HEAD AT ST JOSEPHS PRMARY SCHOOL

Mrs Nicola Tippen has been appointed as the new and substantive Headteacher as from 1st September 2026. Bringing with her a wealth of experience within Catholic Education including working as a Headteacher previously.

ORGAN RECITAL

Jake Scicinski Son of Stefan and Irena who have recently moved to our parish – Featuring music by Mendelssohn, Brahms and Darke. Thursday 21st May at 12.15pm at Worcester Cathedral. The recital lasts only for 40 minutes so please be on time.

NOTICES FOR YOUR DIARY

  • On Pentecost Sunday 24th May, Jatinder Madhara (father of Alena, one of the First Holy Communion children) will be baptised, Confirmed, and make his own First Holy Communion at the 11 am Mass. Please keep him in your prayers as he prepares for this wonderful occasion.

  • Sunday 7th June, the Solemnity of Corpus Christi: the children will be receiving Jesus for the First time at the 11 am Mass. We will have a short "Corpus Christi" procession after Mass and will need flower petals to scatter on the ground before the Blessed Sacrament. Please keep petals and bring to church the week before. A box will be placed in the Narthex for them from the weekend of the 23rd of May.

CATECHIST FORMATION SESSION:

"How Jesus Catechised"

Saturday, 6th June 2026 Time: 9:30 am – 12:15 pm at St George’s Parish Centre, Catechists including Children’s Liturgy Teams, Sacramental Preparation Teams from the Kidderminster and Worcester Deanery are invited to join us for a morning of reflection and discussion on how Jesus taught and catechised. A PARISH MISSION FOR THE 150TH ANNIVERSARY OF OUR PARISH

As part of the celebration of the 150th Anniversary, the Redemptorists will preach a Mission in our parish from Saturday, 27th June till Friday, 3rd July 2026. Keep this week in focus.
