A candle will be prepared for each of the deceased and if you wish you can donate £1 for the candle. These candles will be blessed and lit at the Mass of the day, and you will be asked to carry them to the sanctuary during the Mass. They can be taken home after Mass
PRAYING FOR VOCATIONS
The month of November is dedicated to praying for all vocations and particularly to the Priesthood and Religious life. We welcome Douglas Grantham and Filip Gronkiewizc seminarians from Oscott College who will share their vocation story at the weekend Masses for Christ the King. They are both seminarians for Birmingham Archdiocese.

This is the Rite to which Jithin belongs by birth, although he is a seminarian of the Archdiocese of Birmingham. Fr Naz will be in attendance on behalf of the parish.
DEANERY ALTAR SERVERS DAY
All altar servers from around our Deanery are invited here to St Joseph’s on Saturday 29th November (10.30am-3.30pm) for a day where we will come together to share experiences, listen to one another, learn more about the ministry of serving at the altar, grow in faith and enjoy good company and a meal together. It would be good to have a good turn-out from our own parish! Please let Edd, or Fr Naz know if you can come.
DATES FOR NEW ST JOE’S YOUTH GROUP
Fridays 6pm-7.30 pm in the McEnnis Room. Next dates are 21st November and the 5th & 19th December. Please contact Suzie Wolff: suziewolff@gmail.com 07939 511177 for more information.
ONE WORLD GROUP CURRY NIGHT SUCCESS
The Friday before last nearly 40 parishioners, including a strong contingent from the Youth Group, gathered to enjoy some delicious curry and to hear about a visit to our Partners of Reach the Unreached in Tamil Nadu. The event was a great success, thanks to the sterling work put in by everyone involved. Thanks obviously to Tom and Binci, who produced such lovely food. The evening would not have worked so well without the input of all who helped with setting up the room and - most importantly - stayed behind afterwards to clear up. Special mention must be made of the members of the Youth Group, who helped with serving and helped the technologically illiterate oldies deal with the IT side of things. The success of the function will surely encourage us to continue with our work; it is an indication of the success of the evening that we will be able to send over £500 to RTU to help support their work
CHRISTMAS CAROL CONCERT
Sunday, 14th December at 2.30pm Refreshments and Mince Pies followed by the Carol Concert at 3.30pm.
CHRISTMAS CRIB FESTIVAL 13-14 December
This year, to help us to remember the true meaning of Christmas, we will be having the Christmas Crib festival again. See the posters around the church for details. BUT... we will need volunteers to be in the church to make sure that the cribs are safe. A sign-up sheet will be put in the narthex in due course.
MARY AND JOSEPH’S JOURNEY AROUND MALVERN
Throughout Advent, (from 30th November) Mary and Joseph (figures) will be travelling around the parish enroute to Bethlehem, and we will be looking for families to host them overnight. The idea is that they will only spend 24 hours with each family and we need to begin to work out with fellow parishioners who you can collect or take Mary and Joseph and how we can pass on to each other. The figures are robust and suitable for families. The sign-up sheet is in the narthex.
COLLECTION COUNTERS
Thank you for the four new volunteers. We need one more to have a complete set of eight counters. Please contact Father Naz or the office if you can help.
