Pope’s Prayer Intention for June
That the world might grow in compassion. Let us pray that each one of us may find consolation in a personal relationship with Jesus and, from his Heart, learn to have compassion on the world..
Please Pray
For the Sick and Housebound of St Joseph’s Parish: Clare Gray, Anne Wiseman, Anne-Marie Elder and Elizabeth Docker. We include all those in hospitals, nursing homes & their own homes. Our Lady, health of the sick, pray for them. Amen.
For those celebrating their Wedding Anniversary: Helen and Phil Morgans and Anne and Paul Lewis.
SECOND COLLECTION NEXT WEEK WILL BE FOR
Catholic Communications.
29TH MAY, THURSDAY IS THE SOLEMNITY OF THE ASCENSION OF THE LORD
The Feast of Jesus’ Ascension celebrates the end of Jesus’ work on earth for us and his return to God his Father. It is a Holyday of Obligation, and we shall have two Masses: one at noon and the other at 7pm. His Ascension is followed almost immediately by the sending of the Holy Spirit. Through the Spirit, Jesus remains present with us as we trust in his promise that he will return at the end of time. Taken together, the stories of the Ascension and Pentecost explore the way in which Jesus is now both present to us and distant from us.
MARCH FOR LIFE COACH
Join March for Life UK on Saturday 6th Sept in London! The right to life underpins every other right we have and without it every other right is rendered meaningless. Abortion denies the most vulnerable in our society their most basic right, the right to life, which is why this year’s theme is ‘Human Rights for All Humans’. Unite with thousands of others at this family-friendly event where we recognise the value of life from conception and stand up for all those who have been impacted by abortion. A coach will be leaving St George's Church carpark, Worcs, at 7.30am and will depart London at 5pm. Seats cost £25, payable in advance. We usually have a priest or two with us. To book a seat or for more info contact Isabel: 07773 501721 or
email izzyvs@gmail.com

ANNUAL PARISH MEETING
Sunday 6th July, 4pm, in the McEnnis Room. Please come to this important meeting where we hear from Fr Naz and the PAC about the past year and the plans for our parish into the future. Several PAC members will be retiring, and we would like to invite parishioners to consider joining the PAC. Nomination forms will be in the narthex over the next few weeks. If you have questions about the PAC or what being a member involves, please ask Fr Naz or Edd Hogan. An agenda and
supporting documents that the APM will cover will be available shortly online and a printed reference copy will be available to view in church.
ONE WORLD GROUP EVENT – A STEP TOWARD PEACE AND JUSTICE
On Tuesday, 13th May, around 35 parishioners gathered for an inspiring evening organised by the One World Group. We welcomed Fr Antony, who shared his moving experiences of running Reaching the Unreached, a community organisation in southern India. Through his talk, we learnt how the organisation provides homes, education, and support to some of the most disadvantaged children in Tamil Nadu. Our parish has supported this mission for many years through the One World Group. As we reflect on over 40 years of the OWG, we are now looking to extend our activities as a Justice and Peace Group. We aim to bring together parishioners who are passionate about causes such as CAFOD, Christian Aid, and other efforts that promote peace and development. Are you interested in peace, development, or humanitarian work? If so, we’d love to hear from you! Please get in touch with Helen Louise (louise_helen@hotmail.com) to express your interest. We’ll arrange a meeting in a few weeks to discuss how we can move forward together.
