About This Week's Mass

TWENTY-SIXTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

26TH – 27TH SEPTEMBER 2026 – PARISH MASS BOOK YEAR A VOLUME 2 – P.134

  • For Mental Health Ministry. Let us pray that the mental health ministry be established throughout the Church, helping to overcome the stigma and discrimination of persons with mental illnesses.

  • For the Sick and Housebound of St Joseph’s Parish: Clare Gray, Anne-Marie Elder, John Eckersley and Irene Davis. We include all those in hospitals, nursing homes & their own homes. Our Lady, health of the sick, pray for them. Amen.

  • For those on the anniversary of their deaths: Joan Passy, John David and Terry Thomas.

  • For those celebrating their Wedding Anniversaries: Maria & Sam Plant, Bernadette & Clive Eakin.

Please pray for Ann Wiseman who died on 17th September – Funeral Mass will be Tuesday 6th October 10.00am.

In October you are all invited to join in the Rosary thirty minutes before the Saturday evening Mass and Sunday, 11am Mass. If you wish to lead the rosary on either of the Masses, please sign-up on the sheet in the narthex.

Families are welcome to host the statue of the Blessed Mary from Sunday after Mass to Saturday before the 6pm Mass to give a chance to say the Rosary as a family for one week and as well as to invite friends to join you in the week. Please fill a form in the Narthex.

Working with children and leading them to a deeper understanding of the wonderful sacraments, especially Reconciliation and the Eucharist, is a real joy and a privilege. Carol Ann is looking for more team members. The Children's sessions are on one Tuesday and one Sunday (before Mass) a month starting in October. If you can help with any of these (not necessarily all of them) please let her or Fr Naz know. Many thanks in anticipation.

It's a wonderful delight to bring your child(ren) to receive the Lord in Holy Communion. Registration is now open for children in school year 3 or above. Forms are available in the Narthex or online. Please return completed application forms to Susan Van Ling c/o the parish office as soon as possible. First meeting is on 6th October in McEnnis Room at 5pm.

Logistics & Tips for Hosts

  • Pet Comfort: Keep water bowls, waste bags, and paper towels available on-site.

  • Leashes/Carriers: Require all dogs to be on leashes and smaller animals (cats, birds, reptiles) in secure carriers.

  • Photo Alternative: Offer a photo blessing option for timid pets or those who have passed away.

We are set to celebrate a major milestone in our parish history as we mark the 150th Anniversary of St Joseph’s Church, Malvern. Our Anniversary Mass will be presided over by His Grace, Archbishop Bernard Longley on Sunday, 25th October at 11:00am. Joining us for this joyous occasion will be priests who have served our parish over the years, alongside local civic representatives and leaders of other faith communities across Malvern. After Mass there will be an bring and share meal in the school Hall for everyone. Details of the shared meal with be communicated shortly.

Elaine Bloomfield is organising a wonderful Christmas Fete in the School Hall on 29th November between 12 noon to 3pm. Many volunteers and helpers required. Sign up sheet in the narthex. We need people to donate and run the stalls please. Contact Elaine for more information on 07517933322 if needed. Donations we are looking for are boxes of chocolates, Alcohol, gifts, food for the food hamper raffle, lucky dip gifts for children. These can be handed into the office. All donations very much appreciated. If anyone can make the cakes or crafts to sell that would be really kind. All money raised will go towards the Parish.

For those who are considering becoming Catholics but also all parishioners are welcome to this DVD series by Bishop Robert Barron. All sessions are all on Tuesdays from 7.00pm till 8.30. Refreshments (teas, coffee, cake etc.) served from 6.45pm.
