Pope’s Prayer Intention for July

For formation in discernment. Let us pray that we may again learn how to discern, to know how to choose paths of life and reject everything that leads us away from Christ and the Gospel.

Please Pray

  • For the Sick and Housebound of St Joseph’s Parish: Clare Gray, Anne Wiseman, Anne-Marie Elder, Elizabeth Docker and Elizabeth Nicolls. We include all those in hospitals, nursing homes & their own homes. Our Lady, health of the sick, pray for them. Amen.

  • Please pray for Ros Teuma wife of Alf Teuma who passed away Sunday, 15th June. Alf worked here at the church for many years giving up many hours to helping us.

  • For those on the anniversary of their death: Bert Rees, Arthur Bevan and Mary Ann Goh.

  • For those celebrating their Wedding Anniversary: Sian & Stuart Gurney and Deepa & Sunil.

SECOND COLLECTION THIS SUNDAY 29th JUNE

Peter's Pence.

VINCENTIAN MISSION APPEAL

We welcome Fr. Joachin U. Nwaorgu CM, on the weekend Masses of 5th and 6th July who will be making a Mission appeal on behalf of his congregation. Your generosity will be great and will make us partakers in their mission.

THE FUNERAL OF ROS TEUMA

The funeral for Alf’s wife will take place on 14th July at 2pm at the Vale Crematorium, Evesham Road, Fladbury, Pershore, WR10 2QR. A reception after the service will be held at 42 Pickersleigh Avenue, Malvern. WR14 2LR – Please contact Alf if you would like to attend on 01684 439831.

ANNUAL PARISH MEETING

Sunday 6th July, 4pm, in the McEnnis Room. Please come to this important meeting where we hear from Fr Naz and the PAC about the past year and the plans for our parish into the future. Several PAC members will be retiring, and we would like to invite parishioners to consider joining the PAC. Nomination forms will be in the narthex over the next few weeks. If you have questions about the PAC or what being a member involves, please ask Fr Naz or Edd Hogan. An agenda and supporting documents that the APM will cover will be available shortly online and a printed reference copy will be available to view in church.

YOUR VIEWS ARE NEEDED FOR THE MCENNIS ROOM FLOOR AND REDECORATION

Please can all parishioners be aware that the McEnnis Room is to be redecorated and work is scheduled to start on Monday June 30th. The work is expected to take around a week and will clearly mean that only limited use of the McEnnis room can be made during this time. In addition, the Maintenance Committee have been successful in making an insurance claim for the damage to the floor (arising from a water leak). The current floor covering must be replaced due to the damage, and this provides an opportunity to review the choice between a ‘hard’ or ‘soft’ finish. The Maintenance Committee is aware that some parishioners struggle with the echo caused by the hard floor and a return to a softer carpeted finish may be preferable. There is of course, a case to be made for both options and all parishioners are invited to voice opinions on the choice of flooring to be reinstated. If you have an opinion, please let Fr. Naz know or send an email to the office during the coming week in order that a decision can be made that reflects the views of the parish.

RCIA/JOURNEY IN FAITH APPLICATION FORMS IN NARTHEX

Everyone is invited to these Tuesday evening sessions on the Catholic Faith. It is a systematic journey, exploring why the Father sent His Eternal Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, to die on the Cross, rise again and ascend into heaven by the grace of the Holy Spirit. We will explore how this is connected to the celebration of the Sacraments, and to the way we live our lives as Christians. Everyone is welcome, especially if you are not a Catholic and would like to find out more. The sessions will begin in September. Many thanks, Mrs Carol Ann Harnett MA, B.Ed B.Div

KENELM YOUTH TRUST MISSION TEAM

Are there any Year 13 students who aren’t heading straight to university, or who may be considering deferring their place? Kenelm Trust could introduce them to an opportunity that’s more than just a gap year – it’s a year of faith, mission, and personal growth. Applications are still open for the Kenelm Youth Trust Mission Team at Alton Castle and Soli, our diocesan retreat centres. We know many young people are still discerning their next steps – especially with results day approaching. That’s why we want to make sure they know there's a path that allows them to serve, grow, and prepare for the future – all within a vibrant Catholic community.

During their year on team, they will:

  • Lead retreats for thousands of young people

  • Live in a supportive, faith-filled community

  • Gain outdoor education qualifications and apprenticeship experience

  • Be guided in planning for life beyond their time with us

  • Deepen their relationship with Christ through prayer, service, and formation.
