OCTOBER: A CALL TO RECITE THE MOST HOLY ROSARY

The Rosary, at its core, is a contemplative prayer where we meditate on the life, passion, death, and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ through the eyes of His beloved mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary. The repetitive nature of the Hail Marys provides a rhythmic backdrop that allows the faithful to dive deep into these mysteries, drawing them closer to both Jesus and Mary. October Invites us all to rekindle our relationship with this cherished prayer. In a world riddled with challenges and distractions, the Most Holy Rosary stands as a beacon of hope, a weapon of spiritual warfare, and a conduit of grace. You are all invited to join in the Rosary twenty minutes before the Saturday evening Mass and the Sunday, the 11am Mass. If you wish to lead the rosary on either of the Masses, please sign up in the McEnnis Room.

HOSTING THE STATUE OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY

Families are welcome to host the statue of the Blessed Mary from Sunday after Mass to Saturday before the 6pm Mass to give a chance to say the Rosary as a family for one week and as well as to invite friends to join you in the week. Please fill a form in the Narthex.

DATES FOR NEW ST JOE’S YOUTH GROUP

WORLD MISSION SUNDAY: 19TH OCTOBER 2025

On World Mission Sunday, the whole Church unites in prayer and generosity to support Catholic communities across the world facing poverty, conflict, and hardship. Pope Francis chose 'Missionaries of Hope Among Al Peoples' as this year's theme, reminding us of our call to be messengers and builders of hope in this Jubilee Year. Rooted in Christ's resurrection, this hope has the power to transform lives and heal our world.

Prayers and donations on this day directly sustain young and struggling faith communities, support vocations, and enable missionaries to bring the Gospel to remote and often dangerous places. Together, we help communities grow in faith, dignity, and self-reliance. For more information, please visit missio.org.uk/wms

VOTE OF THANKS

From the ‘A national walking pilgrimage for the 2025 Jubilee'

“Dear Friends, thank you! Thank you so much for joining the Pilgrimage of Hope as day pilgrims. Everyone arrived safely at the Cathedral of St Barnabas in Nottingham on the eve of the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross as planned. We were welcomed by the Cathedral Dean and Bishop Patrick McKinney, who walked the final day. We had a wonderful social event in the evening with Irish music and dancing.”

A big thank you to Chris & Angella Park, Alice and Simon Kerby and Maggie Griffiths who hosted these pilgrims into their homes.
