  • The care of water. Let us pray for a just and sustainable management of water, a vital resource, so that everyone may have equal access to it.

  • For the Sick and Housebound of St Joseph’s Parish: Clare Gray, Anne Wiseman, Anne-Marie Elder, John Eckersley and Irene Davis. We include all those in hospitals, nursing homes & their own homes. Our Lady, health of the sick, pray for them. Amen.

Saturday 6th September 2026

The annual Pilgrimage Mass at Harvington Hall, Shrine of the English Martyrs, will take place on Sunday 6 September, at 3pm. This year's principal celebrant will be His Excellency Archbishop Miguel Maury Buendía, Apostolic Nuncio to Great Britain, assisted by Archbishop Bernard Longley. Free parking for all pilgrims: arrive in good time so that you can enjoy a picnic, visit the house and go to confession (1:45pm-2.30pm). Free timed tours of Harvington Hall, which can be booked on arrival at the Hall's courtyard. Visitors are asked to bring their own chairs and a packed lunch. All are warmly invited to join this special diocesan pilgrimage and celebration of the witness of the English Martyrs at this historic shrine.

Our annual open-air Mass on the Malvern Hills will take place at 1pm on Sunday 13th September. At the usual place, please bring a meal to share. The location for Mass will be the same as previous years: WTW winner.arise.pickle. It is about 300m up the main path from Blackmore car park. In case of bad weather, we shall have the Mass in St Joseph’s. Watch out for Communication the day before.

takes place from Monday 14th September to Saturday 19th September. The maintenance team has organised a special vacuum cleaner for dealing with high level areas. Some areas of the church are to be painted. All of the church and rooms are due to be cleaned. There is a long list of light and heavy jobs to do and they will be allocated on arrival. Thank you to everyone who has offered to help. You may still join in by signing up on the sheet in the narthex or just turn up. On Monday 14th September we aim to start at 9.30am when the main tasks are is to remove furniture from the main church, then set up the Aldwyn Room for use as a chapel for masses during the cleaning week.

Working with children and leading them to a deeper understanding of the wonderful sacraments, especially Reconciliation and the Eucharist, is a real joy and a privilege. Carol Ann is looking for more team members. The Children's sessions are on one Tuesday and one Sunday (before Mass) a month starting in October. If you can help with any of these (not necessarily all of them) please let her or Fr Naz know. Many thanks in anticipation.

It's a wonderful delight to bring your child(ren) to receive the Lord in Holy Communion. Registration is now open for children in school year 3 or above. Forms are available in the Narthex or online. Please return completed application forms to Susan Van Ling c/o the parish office as soon as possible and by 20th September at the latest.

As members of the committee, we are continually busy organising, managing, and carrying out jobs needed to maintain the church and presbytery premises. This includes improvements, routine maintenance work and responding to problems or failures as they arise. To save the Parish the cost of employing outside agencies, we try to undertake as many of these jobs as possible ourselves. To relieve the load and enable further savings, each month in the bulletin we will be appealing for volunteers to come forward on a ‘one-off’ basis to help with certain specific tasks. This month we would be grateful for any help with the following ‘DIY’ type jobs:

  1. Preparing and repainting the main car park gates

  2. Preparing and repainting the metal railings and side gate adjoining the car park gates.

  3. Assisting in the fixing of an ethernet cable to run between the office and McEnnis Room entrance foyer.

12noon, Saturday 3rd October 2026

All altar servers from the Archdiocese are invited to attend (wearing albs / cassock & cotta) this annual Mass at St Chad’s Cathedral. This year the celebrant is Bishop Timothy Menezes. A sign-up sheet is in the sacristy. Arrive by 11am to vest in the Grimshaw Room. Bring a picnic as refreshments after the Mass are limited this year due to ongoing work in cathedral crypt.
